Due to the ongoing situation with coronavirus we're cancelling this month's meetup.

This
monthly meeting will be held in the informal and friendly setting of
Platform 8, Inverness. We'll have a Pub Quiz and plenty of chat and
discussions. 

The table is booked from 5.30pm if you'd like to join us for food.

If you'd prefer to join us at a later time, you're free to do so. 

Please RSVP so the table can be booked for the right number of people. 

Our group is an informal and friendly setting for chat about all types of web developing/designing/branding-related stuff. It's a good place for techy people of all kinds to get together, socialise and network.

This month we'll have a talk by Noah:

Title: "Conscious Coding Practice: The Three Concrete Steps"

Abstract:

"You feel guilty about not knowing enough "Computer Science." But that isn't what you're still missing in your coding. If you could just pick up any problem and solve it, you wouldn't care if you used a formal-sounding algorithm to do it.

There's a way to get that "fingertip feel" for coding. And it comes from mindful, conscious practice.

Sounds abstract, doesn't it? Instead, it's very simple, specific and concrete. We'll go over the basic steps, the pitfalls, and how to do it. It works whether you're a beginner or an expert. You'll be able to create coding studies for yourself, not just find other people's exercises that are already worked out for you.

The examples are in Ruby. But the technique works with any language, library or paradigm. It's also good for pairing."

The presentation will be from 7pm at the Impact HUB, 67 Castle Street. If you're just coming for the presentation, please arrive promptly as we'll all go inside the Impact HUB at the same time. Please let us know in advance if you're going to be later.
